This interior project showcases a sleek, broad-span timber portal that defines the dining area. By using timbers with a slightly more weathered, honey-toned patina, we added a layer of “lived-in” history to a contemporary room. The wide horizontal beam is a single, impressive piece of wood that stretches across the room, providing a visual boundary without the need for restrictive walls.
The beauty of this woodwork lies in its simplicity; there are no ornate carvings, just clean lines and solid junctions. The thickness of the vertical pillars adds a sense of “heft” to the room, making the dining space feel like a dedicated sanctuary for family gatherings. It’s a testament to how a few well-placed pieces of high-quality timber can completely redefine an interior floor plan.
